We are exactly one day late with the Thursday tutorial of our Themed Advertising Campaign – but not a moment delinquent! Today’s tutorial is widely applicable to all hair types. Chances are, you wash your hair regularly, and depending on the products you use and the frequency of your wash, you are either seeing great results, or wondering – what is this wash really doing for me besides removing dirt? A wash can be so much more than merely a mechanical task that removes dirt. It can be a mechanism that strengthens and adds nourishment to your hair – or a mechanism that strips your hair of goods. It all depends on how you approach your wash.
We came across an article that captures a few key considerations to make when choosing products for your wash and choosing a wash schedule or regimen. Of the key considerations, we’d like to summarize a few key points [Camille Styles, 2022]:
- Try not to use shampoos with sulfates
- Try not to use products with alcohol
- Try not to use products with silicones
- Minimize heat usage for your hair
- Too much styling can be bad
- Try not to wash too frequently
We encourage you to check out the full article, which contains the full story on why these few highlights, as well as several more were suggested, as well as product recommendations. We hope that this information will help you secure – and maintain – luscious and well-moisturized locks!
