Self-expression is always a risk. You are bearing a part of your soul to the world around you, and many times, the world will respond with a “yes” or “no.” We believe that despite the risk, true vulnerability, when used properly, is a must. In business, one of the charges that are often given is to “find your tribe.” That is, find the group of people who have desperately been waiting for the market solution you are offering. We’d say, when it comes to vulnerability, the same idea can be applied. There is likely a tribe out there for each of us, and we just have to find that tribe.
The path to finding our tribe may not be an easy one. It may be filled with rejection, misunderstandings, and in the case of great hair in the wrong environment, the perception of being vain (what’s so vain about loving great hair?!). However, think of those experiences as the “toads we kiss” on the way to actually finding our tribe. If we keep looking, and we keep persevering, there’s likely a Prince somewhere! Or rather, if we keep being true to ourselves in the best possible sense, its likely that we will attract our tribe, which is even better.
Our only encouragement to you is to keep on being your best self – the world needs you. We’d also throw in “May the 4th be with you,” but we’re unfortunately a day late for that ;). Therefore, simply:
