From academic settings to business settings, there are some places where the word “style” is an insult. In settings where style is an insult, no one really cares about personal style, and everyone is content to show up with the same hair and in the same exact outfit as everyone else (even when there are no uniforms). There is also a critical eye for those who may not want to take as bland of an approach. That being said, what are your thoughts? Is personal style important? Is it a distraction?
